Hundreds of years before Jesus was born, prophecies were written about the coming of the Messiah. In the book of Deuteronomy 18:15-19, Moses stated that the Messiah would come to the earth just as God had sent Moses. Another prophecy that Jesus fulfilled was that he would be born to a virgin. In the book of Isaiah 7:14, it prophesized that the son of God would be born to a virgin. Jesus fulfilled this prophecy when He was born to the virgin Mary (Mathew chapter 1).
In Isaiah 35:5-6 it states that the Messiah will perform many miracles. Throughout the New Testament of the Bible, Jesus performed many miracles. In the book of Zachariah 11:13, it states that the person who betrays Jesus will receive money that will be used to buy a potter’s field. This prophecy was fulfilled in Mathew 27:6-10. When Judas saw what was happening to the Lord, he took the 30 pieces of silver and threw it to the ground. The chief priests picked up the silver coins and bought a potter’s field to bury strangers in it.
There are many other important prophecies that Christ fulfilled. The Old Testament Bible has a lot of prophecies that Jesus fulfilled. Jesus has fulfilled all of them except for one. It is the prophecy of His second coming. Jesus came down from heaven and was put on earth in human flesh to pay for our sins. I was born a Catholic and I struggled to believe in my religion. But when I saw the amount of evidence that there is, I knew that Jesus is the only way to eternal life.
