Bible King James Version 1611

If King James was not a famous, powerful man…would the King James Version be the best version?

The King James Version 1611 was considered the Authorized version because King James was the Head of the Church of England. Since then fundamental Christians defend this to death. Why is that? I am learning Hebrew and Greek so when I translate the Bible from the original languages could my Bible be the best version?

The important things about the Authorized Version was that it took away any excuses for the Dissenters and the Anglican to quarrel. It removed the extremely doctrinal footnotes of the Geneva Bible and both sides took part in the work. In addition, no Catholics were involved in it, so the Roundheads were very happy, well, as happy as they ever got. Unfortunately their Greek source wasn’t a great one, cobbled together out of recent Orthodox copies, but it was adequate. Depending on how long you study, you may indeed produce an even greater translation. I’m rooting for you.
