Bible Testaments

Why are there two testaments to the Bible?

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but the writers of the Bible were “inspired” by God to write the Bible.

If so, then why are there two testaments to the Bible? If God is as perfect as made out to be, shouldn’t his inspiration to the writers be clear, perfect, absolute, and without need for revision? Shouldn’t Jesus Christ’s death have not anything to do with the death of the “old laws”?

Once again, forgive me if I am wrong or am confused. Please explain.
Plato-Girl: LOL not very forgiving of a person’s mistakes are you?

The OT tells about the history of what went on before Jesus’s arrival. It sets up the world for the arrival of Jesus. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of prophecies that predict the coming of the Messiah (Jesus) in the OT.

The NT tells of Jesus’s arrival, his time on Earth and how he fulfilled every single one of those messianic prophecies in the OT.

So both together are the before, during and after of the Jesus story. If we didn’t have the OT, we’d be missing the background of Christianity and why Jesus had to come to Earth to restore our relationship with God.
