John 14 Bible Verse

Many people never get ahead in life. They work long hours on their job and after work they drive their kids in different directions to practice basketball, football, music, and other school activities. Every time they manage to put a few bucks in the bank, something breaks down and they have to spend it.

They work hard and try to do their best, but someone else always gets the promotion or they are laid off. They struggle to stay healthy but they keep catching every virus that comes along. They try to escape from the pressures of life with alcohol or drugs, but it just makes it worse when they wear off.

Does that sound like what you are going through? Are you struggling to keep a roof over your head and a decent meal in your stomach? Do you see your friends getting fatal diseases and wonder if you are next? Are you wondering if life is worth it?

There is no question that life has its difficulties. Everyone has their share of troubles. The difference between feeling unraveled and fulfilled usually comes down to how you see life. Do you have a job or are you being paid for what thrills your soul? Do you take any job that comes along, or have you discovered your purpose in life and planned how to fulfill it?

Are you concerned mainly about the physical things of life? The God of heaven has a plan for your life and has promised to work things out for your best. Jesus said that if you save your life you will lose it, but if you lose your life you will find it (Matthew 16:25).

That means that if you live only for your own physical welfare you will forfeit your eternal destination with God in heaven. If you trust God and follow his directions you will not only be fulfilled in this life, you will enjoy the glories of heaven in the next. Life is not about us. It is about God. He created life and made us a part of it. He formed each of us in the womb and planned where we would live.

God has a purpose for your life. It involves living faithfully and doing what you can for his cause. He gave you some special talents that you can use for that. Get trained in the things you love to do and do them for him.

Quit struggling with life. Relax and trust God. A manÂ’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way (Proverbs 20:24)? Let him lead you. Direct your steps according to his word. He will not let sin rule over you (Psalm 119:133). Learn about God and his word the Bible. Do what you can for his cause. Do not surrender your life to alcohol or drugs. Surrender to Jesus Christ. He will give you peace that the world cannot give (John 14:27). He will bless you and make your life fruitful.

Most people believe they have complete control of their life. They have little knowledge of the Bible. Jeremiah 10:23 says that it is not in man to direct his own steps. We can do physical things to make a living but we do not have the capacity to decide on the moral issues of life. We must rely on the Bible which is the instruction book for human beings. The book, “Climbing the Heavenly Stairs,” describes how to go about conforming to the Lord’s standards. The basics are given and it gradually becomes deep enough for scholars.
