Life Bible Scriptures

I need some clarification on a matter in my life and hopefully some direction on scripture in the Bible.?

I started dating a man who was separated from his wife at the time. I had nothing to do with their marriage breakdown. There marriage was over before he was separated and since have been going through a difficult divorce. We have been dating for nearly two years now. My partner was a Christian and now he has decided to end our relationship as he feels he has committed adultery with me and can no longer be with me ever. He feels he has to live his life without a woman forever as he will be a divorcee and has committed adultery and this is how God wants him to live the rest of this life. What are peoples opinions of this from a Christian perspective?

Luke 16:18 “Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries a woman divorced from her husband commits adultery.

Matthew 5:32 But I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Matthew 5:28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

According to what you describe and what the bible and the words of Jesus, you have both committed adultery. But you can both be forgiven, repent and forsake sin and trust in Jesus Christ and you shall see eternal life!

John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
