The Old Testament?
Listening to an audio-book version of the King James Bible, I came across a place that seemed to pretty clearly condemn gays. It was the part w/ Lot. Did I understand this part of The Good Book rite?
oh, you mean Lot whose wife was turned into stone when she turn to look at the burning cities of sodom and gomorahh?
please do not use Lot as an example because if you read the bible he used his daughters as prostitues to appease the crowds that came to his house…..and most important, after his wife’s death he had sexual relations with his daughers and they bore him children……INCEST!
people during that time weren’t the best example of piety or prudence based on today’s rule of conduct, don’t you think?
another example of propriety is……abraham was afraid the pharoah would kill him when he and his tribe went to eqypt so he gave his wife, who was also his sister, sarah, to the pharoah to be his wife……
another great example of proper conduct would be kind david, who had the husband of batsheba send to be killed in battle so he could acquire her for himself…….
jacob married two sisters, rachel and leah, and also had children with their two maids…….
man, i could go on….and, on……and, on…….so please DO NOT quote the old testament as people then were primitive and decadent.
let’s talk about Jesus in the new testament. in the new testament, Jesus never said anything about homosexuality……it was already after His death when St. Paul’s letters to the corinthians and other group that this was first mentioned. Today, we know that many of these letters were not written by St. Paul but his followers.
